  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef
    Heat oil in a large pot. Cook ground beef until browned. Remove excess fat.

  2. Sauté vegetables
    Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook until soft.

  3. Add spices
    Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, and tomato paste. Cook 1 minute.

  4. Add tomatoes & beans
    Pour in crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, beans, and beef broth.

  5. Simmer slowly
    Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 45–60 minutes for best flavor.

  6. Adjust seasoning
    Add salt, pepper, and sugar to balance acidity.
