Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: ½ cup grated cheese

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup green olives, sliced
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

1. Make the Potato Topping

  1. Boil potatoes until soft.
  2. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Beef Filling

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper; cook until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Mix in tomato paste, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add olives and hard-boiled eggs.
  6. Cook 5 more minutes and remove from heat.

3. Assemble

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Spread half the mashed potatoes at the bottom of a baking dish.
  3. Add the beef filling as a thick layer.
  4. Top with remaining mashed potatoes.
  5. Optional: sprinkle cheese on top.

4. Bake

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden on top.
  • Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
