How to Make Arroz con Gandules

1. Sauté aromatics

Heat olive oil in a pot. Add garlic, onion, bell pepper, and sofrito. Sauté until fragrant.

2. Add spices and tomato sauce

Stir in Sazón, cumin, oregano, and tomato sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes.

3. Add rice and pigeon peas

Mix in the rice and drained pigeon peas. Stir well.

4. Pour broth and simmer

Add broth, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.

5. Cover and cook

Cook for 20–25 minutes until the rice is fluffy and liquid is absorbed.

6. Fluff and serve

Turn off heat, let the rice rest for 10 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
