🧄 Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 cup warm milk or water (as needed)
For the filling and topping:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or mix with cheddar)
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro or parsley
🔥 Instructions:
- Make the dough: Mix flour, baking powder, soda, sugar, and salt. Add yogurt, oil, and warm milk. Knead into a soft dough. Cover and rest for 1–2 hours.
- Prepare the filling: Mix shredded cheese with a bit of garlic and cilantro (optional).
- Divide the dough into small balls, flatten each and place 1–2 tbsp cheese filling inside. Seal and roll gently into thick rounds.
- Brush with water on one side and place onto a hot tawa/skillet (wet side down). Cover and cook 2–3 minutes.
- Flip and cook the other side until golden spots appear. Optional: cook over direct flame for a tandoor effect.
- Brush with garlic butter and sprinkle fresh herbs. Serve hot!
