Ingredients
For the Samosas:
Store-bought or homemade samosas – 4-5 (crushed slightly)
For the Chickpeas (Chole):
Boiled chickpeas – 1 cup
Oil – 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
Salt – to taste
For the Toppings:
Yogurt – 1/2 cup, whisked with a pinch of salt and sugar
Tamarind chutney – 1/4 cup
Green chutney – 1/4 cup
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala – 1 tsp
Finely chopped onions – 1/2 cup
Finely chopped tomatoes – 1/2 cup
Sev (crispy chickpea noodles) – 1/2 cup
Fresh coriander leaves – for garnish
Pomegranate seeds – optional, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chickpeas (Chole)
1. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
2. Add boiled chickpeas, turmeric powder, red chili powder, chaat masala, and salt. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Step 2: Assemble the Chaat
1. Place 1-2 crushed samosas on a plate.
2. Add a generous layer of spiced chickpeas on top.
3. Drizzle whisked yogurt, tamarind chutney, and green chutney over the chickpeas.
Step 3: Add Toppings
1. Sprinkle red chili powder, chaat masala, onions, tomatoes, and sev.
2. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and pomegranate seeds (optional).
Step 4: Serve
1. Serve immediately to enjoy the mix of textures and flavors.
