Butter Chicken Pizza Recipe
Butter Chicken Pizza combines the creamy richness of butter chicken with the crispy-chewy base of a pizza. It’s a fusion delight that’s perfect for special occasions or family dinners.
Ingredients
For the Butter Chicken Topping:
Boneless chicken – 300 g, cubed
Yogurt – 1/4 cup
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Butter – 2 tbsp
Onion – 1, finely chopped
Tomatoes – 2, pureed
Cashew paste – 2 tbsp (blend soaked cashews with water)
Fresh cream – 3 tbsp
Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) – 1 tsp
Salt – to taste
For the Pizza Base:
Store-bought or homemade pizza base – 1 large
Butter – 1 tbsp (for brushing)
For Assembly:
Mozzarella cheese – 1 1/2 cups, grated
Fresh coriander leaves – for garnish
Red chili flakes – for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Marinate and Cook the Chicken
1. Marinate chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, and lemon juice. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
2. Heat butter in a pan and cook the marinated chicken until tender. Remove and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Butter Chicken Sauce
1. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté onions until golden.
2. Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
3. Stir in cashew paste, cooked chicken, and a little water. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
4. Add cream, kasuri methi, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2 more minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
Step 3: Prepare the Pizza Base
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
2. Brush the pizza base with melted butter for extra flavor.
Step 4: Assemble the Pizza
1. Spread a generous layer of butter chicken sauce over the pizza base.
2. Top with cooked chicken pieces and sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese evenly.
Step 5: Bake the Pizza
1. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
2. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
1. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and a sprinkle of red chili flakes if desired.
2. Slice and serve hot with a side of mint chutney or ketchup.
Tips for Best Results
For extra smoky flavor, char the chicken pieces on a grill or tandoor before adding to the sauce.
Use naan bread as the base for a quick alternative to pizza dough.
